Here are a couple of pics of the deck so far. It is WA Karri 85mm x 20mm finished with Sikkens HLSe.
I was very fussy with the measurements and cutting and it paid off.
The lake in the pic is Lake Macquarie near Morisset.
Super pleased with the whole result.
couple of photos of the finished product that we used your 68×19 Blue Gum decking for. I really like the idea of the narrow boards around the pool to minimise cupping and get more air flow between the boards.

Just wanted to let you know I received the timber last Friday and there is a photo of the end result attached. Really happy with it and was just what I was after.
Thanks again for all your help.
Pretty much finished. Thanks for your advice and excellent service!
I just thought I’d send a couple of photos of the deck and pergola that I’ve built using the Cypress timber you supplied. We are extremely happy with the Cypress and we have had lots of favourable comments. I will happily
recommend Abbey Timber and the benefits of Cypress timber to any friends that are thinking of building any external structures.
Please find attached, Northern Box decking.
Many thanks and much appreciated for your time, help and all the advice for my decking.
The final product looks amazing!!! The Sikkens Oil that you recommended really highlights the timber colour.
Many thanks for a great product and advice. I installed my new deck using that fine wood iron bark. It looks a million bucks. The advice about the Sikkens products was used and has given the deck a great look.
Many thanks again and I will pass your details on to the company I work with for as they install decks.
Wanted you to see how good the gates came up using the Northern Box you recommended. The material was straight and has’nt leached at all.

Hello Andrew and Shana,
We thought you might like to see how the Blackbutt flooring looks in our new home – almost finished.
We are thrilled with the quality and overall appearance of this timber and have only had a satin water-based finish applied to it (2 coats), after professional sanding. The tradies who laid it said that it was a hassle-free job.
Needless to say, we are thrilled with the results and we thank you for your valued cooperation at all stages of the transaction and shipping.
We saved quite a lot of money, dealing with you and organising the freight ourselves. Feel free to use us as a reference for anyone else considering this timber flooring.

I purchased some African redwood from you a couple months ago. I promised I’d send you some photos of the finished product.
We are really happy with the timber, it didn’t bleed and everyone that’s seen it loves it and asked where they could get it from. So you might get a few more customers!
I used 4 coats if sikens ( 3 was fine but the guys that built the awning scuffed it up, so I used an extra coat).
Thanks for recommending it!
FROM SCOTT MULLIN JUST SENT SOME PICS FROM THE DECKING SO YOU WOULD HAVE SOME OF AFRICAN ALBEZZIA
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE
Shelves that were made for McRae Maintenance Solutions out of Hurford brushbox – the floor is also Herford brushbox .
The brush box was overlaid on 32 mm MDF and trimmed with American rock maple to match the limestone wall.
It was finished with 2 pak Syntenko.
Please find attached some photos of out complete pool deck constructed from the 64 x 19mm Turpentine hardwood decking.
All that’s left to do is reinstall the pool fence.
The deck has come up beautifully after the 3 coats of the Sikkens HLS.
The project did take a bit longer than expected. Aside from been total amateurs at this, the old deck frame needed some repairs done before laying the new turpentine deck (not surprising after 30 odd years). The other issue that slowed us down was that the deck had to fit between the pool and the house, and the pool was not square with the house meaning every board had to be measured, cut, and fitted.
The Sikkens decking brush was great to work with (especially as I strained my back playing AFL the day before the timber arrived).
The Macsim Smart Tool was great, however, it would be good if it came with a spare O-ring.
Thanks Andrew for your recommendation on the Engineered Blackbutt Flooring, it’s all been laid and we did the direct stick you suggested and the floor has come up better than expected.
